After 1 Month

It is pretty amazing how fast plants can grow! The balance is not yet established in my aquaponic system, however, it does still provide a water source for plant life.

Here is what the plants look like after 1 month in the towers.

After 1 Week

After 1 week, the plants have varying results. Some have died, others sort of stagnate. Images below.

These are pictures of the seedlings. They are 3 weeks from planting seeds on the left and 1 week from placing in the towers on the right.

Back to work!

I have been negligent in keeping up the information about our farm . . . . . . primarily because I became employed with a very well paying job in March of 2014. . . . . . . my sincerest apologies to anyone who may have had hopes of getting some great herbs and vegetables during that time.

But, all good things must come to an end  . . . . .  I was terminated on July 6 . . . . . so I am back to the farm . . . . . . . this may be the round that sticks as I am going at it much more diligently!

Speaking of which, I just got the first round of seedlings into towers. Take a look!

These are pictures of the seedlings. They are 3 weeks from planting.

Second planting

Seeds in trays

I got my second batch of seeds planted in propagation trays today.

Planted Sweet Basil, Leaf Lettuce, Dwarf Pak Choy, Spinach and Scallions.

The plan is to put 2 plants of each of these in 20 5 foot towers in a week or two.

This variety will give the recipient options during the week. No need to do the same meal every day, mix it up a bit.

Please comment if you are interested in this variety or if you would prefer a different variety. I will be planting each week from now on so the options are open!
